Goose Antics Leave West Parr Ave in the Dark

A goose coming in contact with a power line left 3,021 Campbell residents temporarily without power.

Tail feathers turned out the lights on Campbell residents this morning.

PG&E spokeswoman Monica Tell said, “It looks like the line came in contact with a goose.”

More than 3,000 Campbell residents lost power around 11:13 a.m., said Tell. The outage occurred at W. Parr Avenue and Vale Avenue.

Power was restored to about 2,600 customers by 12:07 p.m., said Tell. Since then additional customers have their power restored.

Sixty-one customers are still without power. Tell said that power is expected to return around 7 p.m. for those customers.

I feel awful about goose :( They are a huge part of the local landscape. Power was only out for an hour or so; kudos to PG&E for the fast work.

Indeed, that poor goose! I'm glad you didn't experience the power outage for long!

IT WAS CRAZY. I LIVE IN THE APARTMENTS ON THE CORNER AND WE HEARD A LOUD BOOM AND THEN MY APT SHOOK AS IF A CAR RAN INTO IT. ALL OF MY NEIGHBORS AND I RAN OUTSIDE TO SEE.

Wow, Shannon, that is pretty crazy. What did you see when you ran out into the street? Was the goose there or was it some other noise that you heard?
