Get Out in Campbell: Moms, Movies, Music, Relay for Life and Another Run

Our suggestions for things to do this week/weekend.

Where/When:, 77 Harrison Ave, Campbell, CA 95008, Thursday, 10:30 a.m. to noon

Why Go: The MOMS Club® of Campbell, CA is part of the International MOMS Club® (Moms Offering Moms Support), for moms who are at-home full-time, part-time or have a stay-at-home business. This is a way for you to meet other moms and your children to meet other children.

Where/When:  300 Grant St.  () Thursday, 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Why Go: This Thurday night the music will be provided by Plastic Onion Band, a Beatles Tribute band. The city is behind this concert series that makes summer so much nicer in Campbell. And give something back to the city by purchasing food and drink while you are there. Your money goes to the Campbell Museum Foundation. Oh, and don't forget your lawn chairs.

Pricing: Free, $1 donation for adults encouraged

Where/When:, 300 Grant St, Friday, 8 p.m.

Why Go: Come see the 1970s classic, The Sting with Paul Newman and Robert Redford in another City of Campbell summer event. The "theater" is located in the parking lot next to near the corner of E. Campbell and Central avenues. The parking lot opens at 6:30 p.m. and shows usually begin between 8:00 and 9:00 p.m., once it's dark enough to see the film.

Pricing: Free

Where/When , 1 W. Campbell Ave., Saturday, 10 a.m. to Sunday, 10 a.m. 

Why Go: Campbell is a winner in this event — raising more than $2 million since 2000 for cancer research and services for local cancer patients. Organizers aim to continue the high standard this year. Teams of people will camp out and take turns walking around the track at the community center. Because cancer never sleeps, the Relay will be a 24-hour event.

Pricing: Free to attend, but remember this is a cancer fundraiser.

Where/When:  198 Maple Lane, Los Gatos, Sunday, 7 a.m. 

Why Go: If you are a runner, this event is for you. But you will have to be an early riser.  The race, hosted by Firstwave Events, will take place at Dell and Knowles Avenue and the Los Gatos Creek Trail. If you haven't already registered, call 408-356-0518. No registration the day of the event.

Pricing: For those who have not yet signed up, $55 for the half marathon, $45 for the 10K.
