Dunn describes himself as "houseless, not homeless," for the last 10 years. He's spent the majority of that time right here in Campbell. Before that, he grew up in Mountain View, spent his high school years at Milpitas High School and lived the first part of his time being homeless in Cupertino.

He is an atypical homeless man, if there is a typical. He's clean, wears regular clothing, rides his bike, is well spoken and drinks a cup of coffee at downtown at least once a week.

He knows all the locals, and they know him. Business owners get a kick out of his stories, and there are literally hundreds.

We will be kicking off a video series on Gary on Tuesday that will feature many of those stories and spotlight what it's really like to be homeless in Silicon Valley.
