Full Circle in Campbell

A group of more than a dozen 'hoopers' congregated in Campbell Tuesday night, all in the name of fun.

Music, laughter and bright colors filled the at about 7 p.m. Tuesday.

The South Bay Hoopers, an organization of people from throughout Silicon Valley who enjoy "hooping" together, flocked to the green between Campbell City Hall and the to swing their hips, undulate their arms and simply get together for a good time.

Crissy Gugler, founder and organizer of the event, says weekly "hooping" get-togethers take place every Tuesday, from 7-9 p.m. The get-togethers are free and open to anyone who wants to join them, but the group doesn't do much for publicity.

"If they're interested, they'll find us," Gugler says.

The group's favorite spot is Pioneer Park in Mountain View, but it also frequents Ortega Park in Sunnyvale, Municipal Rose Garden in San Jose and the Orchard City Green in Campbell.

"It's cool people doing cool stuff," says , hooper and Campbell businessman.

The next hooping will take place at the Municipal Rose Garden in San Jose, June 1, from 7-9 p.m.
