Five Things to Do in Campbell This Weekend

Campbell is loaded with events every weekend. Here's our "short list" of things to check out before the weekend's over.

 

It's Friday in the Orchard City and there's lots to do this weekend.

Food truck treats, art showsand more are just some of the things going on in Campbell this week. If we forgot any events, please let us know what, who, when and where in the comments section below.

For now, here’s our short list of fun events this weekend:

 

1. Visit with Bombshell

Bombshell Boutique is opening its doors today, from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Check out the boutique's expansion and if you are one of the first 25 customers, get a free chocolate box, raffle entry, scarf sale and wine while it lasts.

2. Eat Out with Blast Off

The Campbell food truck will be serving up lunch at Kaiser Permanente at Hacienda Avenue from 11:30 to 1:30 p.m.

3. A Midsummer Night’s Dream

The Campbell Library will be transformed this Saturday, Feb. 2, 1:30 p.m. by the SF Shakespeare. They will perform exerps from the play and do a Q&A at 2:30 p.m. Free. 

4. "Crazy in Love"

Campbell's very own Psycho Donuts is having its annual Psycho Anti-Valentine Art Show, "Crazy in Love" starting Sunday Feb. 3 through Feb. 25.

5. Super Bowl!

So many places in Campbell are offering a seat to view with a group of sports fans, including Capers, Boswells, The Spot and Sonoma Chicken Coop. Which one will you be at when the game begins?

I am impressed with CalTrans ability to do the cleanup, but the problem of homelessness does not goRead More away. Until we find a way to help these people in need, the camps will just move to another location, and everything will start all over again. The homeless need help - whether they want it or not. It's time to get that ball rolling.

Who is Tony Faber? Here is some history from a family member. My name is Karen Hunt and myRead More grandfather is and was Albert Jacob Faber. He owned and ran that bike shop up until his death in 1975. Subsequent to grandpa's death the house/building became the property of my grandmother, Lucille Faber. Upon her death, the property went to my mother, Jackie Faber-Cornick. In 1978, the business, not the building was sold to Alex Lariviere and he has conducted business since. The building was never sold and belongs to my mom, Jackie Cornick. It was her great-grandparents home back in the 1920's. We are shocked and saddened by this tremendous loss. At this time, we are trying to decide the fate of that beloved building. We are currently awaiting forensics tests, engineering and structural reports, and working with the City to keep it safe and prevent it from being vandalized and becoming a blight. I'm happy to answer any questions you might have about the history of Faber's Cyclery. My grandfather was a man of character and integrity. Sadly, neither of his two sons became involved in the business. With that said, anybody claiming to be a Faber or son of Albert Jacob, is just misrepresenting the truth.
