Cloth Diapering and Potty Training: All You Need to Know

Two classes at Tiny Tots Baby Boutique teach new parents "tips and tricks of the trade."

Are you a new mom or dad? If so, these two workshops offered on Saturday, October 15, 2011 at are for you.

First, from 10-11 am, learn the whys and wherefores of cloth diapering in the “Diapering 101 Workshop: Cloth Diapering Made Simple.”

With concern about the environment and disposable diapers amassing in our landfills, modern techniques and supplies have been developed that make using cloth diapers an easy and eco-conscious alternative to disposables.

“Parent Diapering Experts” will be on hand to guide you through the hands-on workshop and to answer all your questions. They’ll also help you decide whether washing your baby’s diapers or using a diaper service is right for you.

Besides cloth diapers, you’ll also learn about new compostable diapers for those times, such as when you’re away from home, when cloth diapers are not an option. Tiny Tots picks up the used compostables, which are then converted into non-toxic Municipal Solid Waste (MSW) that can be used for landscaping.

Then, at 1 pm, learn about potty training as detailed in Jill Lekovic's book, Diaper Free Before 3. Lekovic advocates introducing your child to the potty as early as 6 months of age.

A redeemable deposit of $15 per family, for up to 2 people, is required. The fee is redeemable towards a Tiny Tots Baby Boutique purchase at the conclusion of the workshops. For the diapering class, the fee may be applied to your diaper service account.  Please call Tiny Tots at 408-866-2925 to reserve a spot in either or both classes.
