Campbell to Unveil Veterans Memorial Friday

Campbell Veterans Memorial Foundation to dedicate monument to celebrate those in service from Silicon Valley.

The Campbell Veterans Memorial Foundation will host a public dedication of the new Campbell Veterans Memorial 9:30 a.m. Friday in the Campbell City Council chambers.

The Veterans Day celebration was set to take place at the Orchard City Green but was moved to the council chambers due to expected rain.

During the past year, various city commissions as well as the Council, unanimously approved the monument’s design by Artik Art and Architecture and selected San Jose-based TBI Construction to build the nearly $700,000 monument that will stand adjacent to City Hall.

“This memorial reflects on and honors those men and women who live or have lived in Silicon Valley and beyond who have served our country admirably during war and peacetime,” said Foundation leadership in an open letter to the public.

The Del Mar High School marching band will perform out on the Green along with color presentations from local ROTC students, military flag raisings and the singing of the National Anthem.
