The walk takes place at the San Jose Arena Green, across from the SJ Pavillion. It’s a 3-mile walk and starts at 10 a.m.

"Basically, we don’t have any fundraising minimum," says Erin McKenna, Event Outreach Specialist. "It's a free event."

People either form teams or walk as individuals. If you raise $100, you get a walk t-shirt, she says.

The walk in San Jose is part of the nation-wide event, all over the country. There’s around 600 walks across the country and they all support the Alzeimer’s Association.

Last year, 2,000 people registered and about 3,000 people were in attendance at the event, McKenna says.

So far, this year there are about 500 people registered, but the association is expecting somewhere around 2,500 people to register, but more than 3,000 in attendance.
