The annual community event that was scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 1 has been cancelled by organizers.
"Because of the inclement weather, we are cancelling the Carol of Lights for this year," an email sent out Thursday read. "We discusses a LOT of alternatives but decided it would be in the best interests of the organizations, the volunteers and safety to call it off. Consequently the street will not be closed."
The nonprofit organization and its annual event, which planned on bounce houses, snow area, petting zoo and more is run solely by volunteers and community donations. Planning for the 2013 event is currently underway.
