... on the news of Bin Laden's death
  • Sarah Gomes: I think it's more of a morale boost than anything else, but I am eternally grateful to the men and women who have spent the better part of a decade away from their loved ones. I guess we shall have to see where we go from here.
  • Barbara Lenci: Sad. So many dead, because of this man.
  • Sarah Gomes: I think death is, in general, never a happy occasion. The one exception to this rule is the death of someone who rejoices in the pain, torture, and misery of his/her fellow human beings. After all, there is only one "real" race, the human race. I think that the death of Osama Bin Laden is more representative of the symbolism of a triumph over such a monsterous being than it is about the literal death of one man.
  • Heather Malamisura: Incredibly happy. Would have loved to have been the one to do it myself.
  • Heather Malamisura: The sad thing is that this will just reinvigorate the Muslim extremists.
  • Sarah Gomes: Terrorism knows no religion, no race, no creed. It is a mindset all its own.
... on where they were when the Twin Towers were hit
  • Isabel Hernandez: I was home with my 5-month-old baby boy watching everything that happened on the news, home alone and scared with my baby boy, 'cause everyone else was at work
  • Selvi Katir: I was at home in Hawaii; my mom woke me up and turned the TV on in my room. I woke up just in time to see the second plane hit. I went into work where a couple coworkers were from NYC, so they, of course, were scared for their families. It was an insane day. We did a lot of sitting and hugging that day.
  • Karen Armbruster: At an interview—I got the job:)
