Blue Birds Sing a Song for Campbell

A sepia-toned look at the past.

This week's history photo showcases a group of girls in uniform with the Campbell Water Tower in the background.

In this photo, the Blue Birds group showcases 13 girls in uniform standing around a banner.

The banner has the words "Blue Birds" and a bird logo in a parade on a street. The girl with the hat on the bottom right is Lois Douglas.  The back imprint of the photograph reads: "Photographs W.M. Byrnes, 258 So. 3rd St., San Jose 12, Cal., CY 3 -4319  FEB 23 1953  #286-7."

I love looking at these photos every week. It gives me insight to this city, since I did not grow up here. It gives images to the stories I hear from longtime residents, for sure. What's your favorite image of the past?
