Local Church Offers Free Breakfast With Santa, December 1

A fun - and free - holiday activity for the whole family.

Twinkle lights and snowflakes, elves and candy canes. Hot cider and cocoa on a cold winter morning...and Santa Claus!

The Campbell Church of Christ is gearing up for their annual Breakfast With Santawhere over 400 moms, dads, grandparents and kids are served a hot breakfast while enjoying the North Pole and photos with Mr. Claus.

Over 100 volunteers get to work as early as 5:30am, while others have toiled into the night creating a veritable winter wonderland and delightful backdrops for photos with Santa.

As guests arrive, they are greeted by friendly Helper Elves who direct them to a comfortable waiting area where families enjoy holiday crafts, or sip cocoa and cider. When seats are available, guests are guided to the main banquet room and greeted by Mrs. Claus, where they can enjoy breakfast, time for a photo with Santa, and a reading of Santa's favorite Christmas story. As guests depart, they are presented with a framed copy of their photo with Santa.

Breakfast With Santa is offered the first Saturday in December every year, and is a gift to the community from the Campbell Church. While free, reservations are required and available seatings fill up quickly.

To make a reservation, call 408.378.4900, x228. Seatings begin as early as 7:20am and go through 10:30am. Mid-morning seatings typically fill up first. Families are seated restaurant-style, at tables of eight, and breakfast is served from a buffet. It is suggested that guests arrive five minutes before their reservation time, and allow 45 minutes to an hour for their visit. Reservations are taken until all available seats are filled, or until November 23, whichever comes first.

Breakfast With Santa will be Saturday, December 1. The Campbell Church is located at 1075 West Campbell Avenue between San Tomas Aquino and San Tomas Expressway. For more information about the Campbell Church, please visit their website or find them on Facebook

I am impressed with CalTrans ability to do the cleanup, but the problem of homelessness does not goRead More away. Until we find a way to help these people in need, the camps will just move to another location, and everything will start all over again. The homeless need help - whether they want it or not. It's time to get that ball rolling.

Who is Tony Faber? Here is some history from a family member. My name is Karen Hunt and myRead More grandfather is and was Albert Jacob Faber. He owned and ran that bike shop up until his death in 1975. Subsequent to grandpa's death the house/building became the property of my grandmother, Lucille Faber. Upon her death, the property went to my mother, Jackie Faber-Cornick. In 1978, the business, not the building was sold to Alex Lariviere and he has conducted business since. The building was never sold and belongs to my mom, Jackie Cornick. It was her great-grandparents home back in the 1920's. We are shocked and saddened by this tremendous loss. At this time, we are trying to decide the fate of that beloved building. We are currently awaiting forensics tests, engineering and structural reports, and working with the City to keep it safe and prevent it from being vandalized and becoming a blight. I'm happy to answer any questions you might have about the history of Faber's Cyclery. My grandfather was a man of character and integrity. Sadly, neither of his two sons became involved in the business. With that said, anybody claiming to be a Faber or son of Albert Jacob, is just misrepresenting the truth. Thank you for sharing your story and memories! Very truly yours, Karen Hunt Great grandaughter of the owner of the Original Fabers Cyclery.
