Local Jeweler Buys a Piece of Downtown Campbell

The Jewel Box moves to downtown Campbell.

He's rented three buildings in Campbell over the past 18 years – two in Lloyd Square Shopping Center and another in Hamilton Plaza. Now, Tod Ulery, owner of The Jewel Box, a South Bay Area jewelry business, is ready to settle down in downtown Campbell – permanently.

Ulery recently purchased the vacant building on the 300 block of E. Campbell Ave., nestled between Dutchess Intimates Boutique and the Celtic Shoppe, and across the street from Orchard Valley Coffee.

“Everybody in the city has been incredible,” said Ulery, outside the new location currently under construction. “They’ve all known me for years.”

As a business owner in Campbell for almost two decades Ulery said it's the community's "family-oriented feeling" that makes downtown special. But what attracted Ulery most about moving his jewelry business to downtown, he said, is “The people. The people here are just amazing.”

Having raised his two sons locally, with his wife Tracey, who runs their store in Morgan Hill, Calif., Ulery said, is what made purchasing the building in downtown Campbell that much more important.

"We just wanted to be able to have a spot for the rest our lives," Ulery said, "and someday for our kids, if that's what they want to do."

The Jewel Box in downtown Campbell is scheduled to open Wednesday, August 31, Ulery said. That day, Ulery's will host a champagne ceremony and a one-carat diamond giveaway to commemorate the grand opening of the new location.
